Job Description

The Clinic Practitioner (Clinic Sister) role involves:

Managing a Primary Health Care Clinic within the pharmacy scope

Performing clinic duties according to industry regulations and best practices

Enhancing patient flow and clinic objectives

Maintaining accurate patient records and follow-ups

Ensuring the clinic is operational according to retail hours

Managing clinic stock, equipment, and resources efficiently

Processing claims accurately and on time

Building strong relationships with patients, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and the community

This role requires a combination of clinical expertise, operational management, and strong interpersonal skills to ensure patients receive top-quality care.

Essential Requirements

Grade 12 – Matric

Tertiary qualification in General Nursing

Degree/Diploma in Midwifery

Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)

BHF registration

2–3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister

Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Advantageous:

5+ years’ experience in primary health care

Knowledge of Patient Record System, CKS, Allegra

Key Competencies

Knowledge of community health, primary health care, occupational health, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, HIV/AIDS counseling, wound care, and emergency care

Strong communication skills in English (written and oral)

Analytical skills for clinic statistics and performance targets

Emotional intelligence, trustworthiness, self-motivation, and entrepreneurial flair

Ability to manage both self and team effectively

Special Conditions:

Willingness to work retail hours

Physically fit to manage clinic operations

Valid driver’s license and reliable transport

South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records
