About the Role

The Teaching Experience Supervisor plays a vital role in guiding student teachers through their practical teaching placements at various schools across Gauteng. This position requires a professional who can bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world teaching experiences.

As a supervisor, you will provide mentorship, assess student performance, and support their professional growth. You’ll ensure that every student teacher gains the confidence, skills, and practical understanding needed to thrive in South African classrooms.

This is a part-time opportunity — ideal for retired educators, academic mentors, or teaching professionals seeking to make a meaningful impact while maintaining flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Observe and evaluate student teachers during their practical teaching sessions.

Offer constructive oral and written feedback after each classroom observation.

Guide student teachers in reflecting on their teaching approaches and improving their instructional skills.

Recommend teaching strategies and methods to address areas needing improvement.

Provide support and mentorship to help students overcome classroom challenges.

Maintain accurate reports on student performance and progress.

Ensure student teachers align with the standards of excellence expected at Rosebank College.

Minimum Requirements

A B.Ed. Honour’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (NQF Level 8).

The qualification must include a focus on Higher Certificate or teacher training.

SACE registration (South African Council for Educators).

3–5 years of teaching experience in the Foundation or Intermediate Phase.

Additional Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

Must have no criminal record.

Retired educators and professionals in other sectors with teaching qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Ability to work remotely when required.
